2019 - 2020
Mr. Johnson's mixed media drawings often feature a pear. The pear shape is similar to the shapes of guitars and women. The abstract drawings also represent a play on words pear, pair, pare. Many more mixed media drawing were completed in 2019 and 2020. Abstract areas of the drawings are accompanied by realistic elements the two are not related to one another. These odd pairings are strongly represented in "Woman, Man, asparagus".
There is also a self portrait in 2019 "Me While Young"!

If people would just look at the paintings, I don't think they would have any trouble enjoying them. It's like looking at a bed of flowers, you don't tear your hair out over what it means.
