Mr. Johnson's still life paintings are inspired by my vintage North Carolina Pottery collection. Rather than simply replicating the pots, these pottery images reflect my artistic interpretation, incorporating colors and shapes inspired by the original pieces. The goal is to create a visually captivating series of shapes and textures that interact on the canvas, resulting in a colorful and engaging composition. Through the use of planes of colors and textures, a sense of depth is achieved, giving the impression of shifting proximity to the viewer.
